Jo, thanks!

Shruti - fantasy and science fiction, sometimes bundled together under the term speculative ficition - is such a diverse genre that I would be surprised if you couldn't find something there to intrigue and please you.

The so-called "magic realism" of Central and South American writers is fantasy. So is St-Exupery's "Le Petit Prince" and much of Salman Rushdie. Atwood's The Handmaiden's Tale is science fiction. These are genre stories which are also accepted as mainstream. But spec fic is so much more too. So much that is cutting edge writing - and superb story telling - is now to be found in the genre. Why not give it a try?

Beautifully written. Although I am not a fan of sf, but I like your writing from the article I read. All the best with your book.

Glenda, I have been awaiting your new book with impatience, now even more so, it sounds as though the concepts will be absolutely fascinating. Painting on water, I would love to see that.
